Fossils
Hao Yichun et al. for the first time found fossil foraminifera and their main element are Nonion laevis, N. rolshauseni, Cibicides artemi, etc. These forms are all index species of the underlying Eocene Kalataer Fm (Karatal Fm) and Wulagen Fm; so it is advisable to assign the age of the formation to Eocene.
